What is a fluoropolymer ?
A fluoropolymer is a fluorocarbon based polymer with strong multiple carbon–fluorine bonds. It is characterized by a high resistance to solvents, acids and bases. Fluoropolymers share the properties of fluorocarbons and they are not as susceptible as the Van Der Waals force, hydrocarbons. It contains the most ideal non stick and friction reducing properties. Fluropolymers are stable and tend to be inert. Due to this stability multiple carbon – fluorine bonds are added to chemical compound.
Fluoropolymers are mechanically characterized as thermosets or thermoplastics. A fluoropolymer coating can be applied to all the manufactured metal parts by electrostatic powder coating and can be used to attach large sheets with epoxy to line the interiors of large metal and non metal containers.
Hitech Coatings in India offer high performance, fluoropolymer based coatings that are formulated for optimum impact strength, abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance and quality assurance.
Fluoropolymer coatings can be used on metallic surfaces for withstanding processing temperatures that are required for polymers. Most common applications of fluoropolymer coatings include interior vessel surfaces, man way covers, protector rings, baffles, agitators, flush valves and top heads.
They not only protect interior surfaces of vessels and tanks but also act as superior exterior barriers. Fluoropolymer coatings are repairable and can be applied to existing equipment for longer life.
Our protective coatings are used in a variety of markets where resistance to corrosion, erosion, fouling and high temperatures is needed.
